What I learned from looking at race photos – It’s not pretty!
I was fortunate enough to have my own personal photographer (the hubs) with me in Chicago this weekend. After we met up at the end of the finish line, we enjoyed a few of the post- race activities and then headed back to the hotel. I immediately wanted to see the pictures he had taken. Yes, the super runner nerd was in full effect, and I wanted to analyze every stride, frame by frame. I couldn’t wait to see myself running full of grace, with perfect form and efficiency. Because, after all, I was sure I ran like a rock star. Instead, I saw this.
Now, I don’t claim to be an expert in such things, but every picture where my right foot is forward, my right shoulder looks weird. Like it’s behind my body and leaning. What is that? No one else around me looks like that. Nope, they have nice straight shoulders. Anyway, I was really surprised at how “off” my form looked in a lot of the pictures. I’ll be checking into that…. And for what it’s worth, running pictures, in general, are not pretty.
As far as workouts go, yesterday I took a rest day. I was worn out from the traveling and my legs felt a little tired. This morning it was back to the wonderful humidity. Today’s run was 8 miles (1:06:19).
Now I’m off for a little bit if this…
