World Vision Fundraiser
Good morning! Today’s run was 8 miles. Two miles easy pace, 4 mile tempo run, 2 miles easy pace. My instructions for the 4 mile tempo said that it should be “comfortably hard” and should be around 7:52-8:00 per mile. It started out fine, but by that last mile I was pushing hard to finish. My splits ended up like this: 8:30, 8:15, 7:48, 7:57, 7:47, 8:00, 8:19, 8:25. I think I ran that tempo part in reverse!
I believe I’ve mentioned once or twice here that I am running the Indianapolis Marathon with Team World Vision. I am currently fundraising to help provide clean water to the people in Africa. I’ve set my goal at $1300, which will provide 26 people (one for each mile) with clean water for life. If you are unfamiliar with this organization, check out this short video.
I have a few different fundraising plans in the works, and the first is underway! I have a friend who is Thirty-one consultant and has graciously offered to host a fundraiser. She is donating 20% of all sales associated with this fundraiser to World Vision. You can browse the catalog and see what they have to offer here. I’m getting some good ideas for Christmas gifts! (Just a side note- you will need to select the fundraising event to have the order benefit the organization.)
You can also check out my Team World Vision fundraising page to see my progress or to make a donation.
If you have any questions let me know! Thanks!
